About Me

Life through the eye of the lens. Photography is my way of communication. My way to express: • My feelings • My love for nature • My love for animals • My love for children • My love for adventure • My love for the aesthetic Join me on my photographic journey either through my lens or your own. • Being a keen horseman doing endurance riding, I can capture the grace of horse and rider. • Having climbed Kilimanjaro, hiked the Fish River Canyon several times, I believe you can’t get closer to nature than by foot. I’ll guide you and your camera through Southern Africa’s wilderness areas. • I can bring the aesthetic of the architectural lines and corporative image to the boardroom or reception area. • Being a graduate in photography I conduct regular elementary photography workshops for school groups. I capture them in their environment while they show us what they see – through a camera. • My images of travel destinations, moments in nature and adventure graded the pages of numerous magazine articles. “Capture the moments you never want to forget before they are gone forever. –Mirella Ricciardi”

Saldanha

My very first endurance race was in Saldanha and what an experience. The people, the horse and then Saldanha nature reserve was so beautiful.

I was nerves and afraid of the unexpected. But when they said the riders of 80km may go I was ready for action. The beginning was hard, all the horse where on their own little mission of getting in front. After the first corner I got control again and me and Angel Dust settling down. We connected again.

The first leg was 30km I can’t really remember anything; everything was so new and fast. First Vet check Angel dust pulse was 48. We (Leonora Pieters on Lookout; Anneke de Kock on Candy-man and me) had a rest for 40min. Leg 2 was amazing we were riding at a fast pace. I think we gallop at 17 per km. This was just too fast for the Novice ride. So the third leg we took it very slow. This is when I enjoyed the beauty of Saldanha’s nature.

I think Saldanha ride was the best so far.
